October 27th - National American Beer Day

The United States' affection for beer isn’t a recent trend. In fact, our nation’s fondness for this foamy beverage traces back to times before the US was even officially a country.

A Little History:

  • In 1612, two Dutch traders, Adrian Block and Hans Christiansen, took their love for beer to what is now known as Manhattan Island.

  • At that time, the area was named "New Amsterdam" and was mainly a fur trading outpost.

  • Faced with an especially cold and icy winter, the traders found themselves amidst disheartened and grumpy workers.

  • To lift the spirits of their men, Block and Christiansen made an ingenious move. They started brewing beer.

Did you know?

  • Beer brewing in those early days wasn’t just about producing a refreshing drink. It was also a tool to boost morale during tough times.

  • Beer is loved worldwide, but in the USA, there's something special about an icy cold beer, irrespective of the weather. Even as frost starts to form outside, Americans love to crack open a cold one.

Celebrating National American Beer Day: Today, on National American Beer Day, we invite everyone to reminisce about the history of beer in America and celebrate the current season of chill. Whether you’re a fan of hoppy IPAs, rich stouts, or light lagers, today’s the day to raise a glass to our nation's long-standing beer heritage.

Raise your glasses, say cheers, and join us in celebrating every day!
