#NationalFrozenYogurtDay

It may seem strange that we are talking about a frozen treat at the beginning of February. Cold weather seems to be a deal breaker to enjoy some frozen yogurt. But, really, is there ever a bad time to enjoy frozen yogurt?

Frozen yogurt is one of the most popular treats available to consumers. As people are searching for healthier alternatives to ice cream, frozen yogurt has stepped up to provide an explosion of flavors and topping choices that adds to the popularity of frozen yogurt. We can't think of a better excuse to stop for a treat after a long day of work.

H.P Hood developed the first frozen yogurt in 1970 in the United States. It was created as a soft-serve treat called "Frogurt." Not long afterward, Humphreys and Dannon released their own versions of frozen yogurt. Its popularity grew in the 80s, mostly due to frozen yogurts "health food" status. Ice cream manufacturers soon caught on, offering low-fat options and began adding frozen yogurt to their product options. You can find frozen yogurt just about anywhere--the grocery store, the local ice cream shop, and even gas stations.
