NATIONAL INNER BEAUTY DAY
On October 7, National Inner Beauty Day serves a profound and urgent purpose--to raise awareness and mobilize support for the victims and survivors of human trafficking. This day is not about aesthetics. It’s about recognizing the inherent worth, spirit, and dignity—the true inner beauty—that traffickers attempt to steal. We stand together to honor the resilience of survivors and take meaningful action to end this modern-day slavery.
#InnerBeautyDay
Everyone has a story, a passion that expresses who we are as individuals. Our strength lies in embracing that story without filtering it through someone else's definition of beauty. When our core values reflect on the outside, we have given the world the gift we were born to give.
Human trafficking is a horrific crime that involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to exploit individuals for labor or commercial sex. It happens in communities all over the world, including right here in the United States. To grasp the scale of this crisis, we need to realize the impact it has on the world.
Human trafficking is one of the world's most profitable criminal industries, generating an estimated $150 billion annually. The International Labour Organization (ILO) estimates that nearly 50 million people are trapped in modern slavery on any given day, including forced labor and forced marriage around the world.
Traffickers prey on the most vulnerable, targeting individuals facing poverty, discrimination, political instability, and a lack of opportunity. Youth, migrants, and members of marginalized communities are at the highest risk. The goal of human trafficking is to strip individuals of their autonomy, story, and humanity for profit. National Inner Beauty Day is a powerful counter-narrative, insisting that every person's spirit is invaluable and worth fighting for.
