NATIONAL PROVIDER APPRECIATION DAY
National Provider Appreciation Day, also known as National Child Care Provider Day, is celebrated annually on the Friday before Mother’s Day. This special day recognizes child care providers, teachers, and other educators of young children everywhere.
#ProviderAppreciationDay
Child care providers deserve a big “Thank you” for their dedication, commitment, and compassion. Less than one-third of children in America have a full-time stay-at-home parent. Since child care providers are partners in raising children, parents carefully choose them. This may include private home daycares, daycare centers, in-home providers, or live-in nannies. Parents place their trust in their child care providers as they share child-rearing responsibilities.

NATIONAL PROVIDER APPRECIATION DAY HISTORY
National Provider Appreciation Day was started in 1996 by a group of volunteers in New Jersey. This group recognized the need to acknowledge the tireless efforts of providers who care for the children of working parents. Each year since, momentum and support have grown, and recognition currently includes individual and government organizations throughout the United States. Many state governors sign a proclamation each year. For more information on National Provider Appreciation Day, www.providerappreciationday.org.
